create my own patterns for Sims 3 ( Part 3) create my own patterns for

This article is part of a Tutorial series, which deals with creating designs for The Sims 3 . Part 1 For this tutorial I have chosen as a starting point, a damask texture of The Inspiraton Gallery
. Then I have changed so that they are 256 x 256 pixels in size and seamless. If you want to keep track of the tutorial with this texture, you can find them in the materials that you can download it with the PDF version of the tutorial.

Step 2 - grayscale images Open the texture created with Gimp and select the menu item Colors> Threshold. agency as limits 0 and
98 one.

This setting black and white the lighter the darker area

Step 3 -. Grayscale images to insert into channels

Now that we have a template for the pattern, we can edit the channels. Create a new image in the size 256 x 256 pixels. Then select the menu item
Colors> Components> Cutting ... . Job as a color mode
RGB
a dialer and

wealth as the next level blue with black. Now select the green level. Now change to gray-scale image and copy it. Then back to the screen with the split channels. These select Paste
. The grayscale image will appear as a floating selection in the Layers window. Click now to anchor in this window floating selection. The grayscale image is then inserted in the level green. The red plane is completely white because it represents the background. The result should look like this in the Layers window:

RGB
.

The result should look like.

Step 4 - File save as a DDS file now Select the menu item File> Save as .. . and there the image file format DDS . In the Save as window
DDS
take the following settings: Compression
on none ,
format
on RGBA8 and set a Harken at
Generate mipmaps
.
from this DDS file can now be created with the Sims 3 workshop of a TSR Sims3Packs file. How will this work in the last part of the tutorial series described.
