A PDF version of the tutorial and the tutorial materials mentioned it here want, you can find them in the materials that you can download it with the PDF version of this tutorial. If you want to instead use a custom texture, it should be for the best result 256x256 pixels and seamless.
I created this texture the way, using the free program Wood Workshop.
Step 2 - grayscale image to create
If not already done so, now open Gimp and add the wood texture as a new image. Then select the menu item Colors> Hue / Saturation ...
and set the saturation to -100 .
The texture should now look like this: now have the brightness and contrast can be increased next. Select the menu item
Colors> Brightness / Contrast ...
out. I have adjusted for brightness and contrast 60
70. then the texture should now look like this:
Step 3 - Texture Fill with pure red place as the foreground color is pure red (R 255 G 0 B 0). Now take the tool box the following settings for fill before: mode on multiplication ,
Fill Type
on
foreground color and Affected Area
to fill whole selection .
Then click with the Bucket on the texture. It should now look as follows:.
Step 4 - File save as a DDS file
now Select the menu item File> Save As ... and there the image file format
DDS
. In the Save as window DDS
take the following settings: Compression on none ,
format on
RGBA8 and set a
Harken
at Generate mipmaps .
from this DDS file can now be created with the Sims 3 workshop of a TSR Sims3Packs file. How will this work in the last part of the tutorial series described.
