In The Sims 3 pattern can have one to four colors, the user can choose at will. For this to be necessary to define which areas should include a pattern to which color. This is done by using gray-scale images, which serve as templates. Each color has its own template, which determines how much of this color at each pixel of the image. White represents the maximum proportion of black and gray tones no part represent values in between dar.
These four templates are arranged one above the other. An overlying face mask always an underlying template. If the top template would be completely white, it would be the underlying patterns to see anything.

In the figure it is a completely white template for the background and three templates, each defining a portion of the flowers. To remember this template information, the four channels of an RGB image can be used. Red, green, blue and alpha. (For channels in general see here
) The red channel in this case constitutes the bottom of the mask and alpha channel the top.

create my own patterns The following parts are presented in three different ways to create their own patterns. Here, the pixel graphics program Gimp is used. Instead, of course you can also use another graphics program that had the same opportunities. In the fifth and final part to the use of the pattern of the TSR Plugins workshop is explaining plans.
